Potemkin solemnly takes in what Ky says, and because he braced himself to be Ky's support he's surprised to hear acceptance.

"In that case...you give me hope that I can accept how I am, too," Potemkin closes his eyes, like he's finally found a break amidst all of these complicated issues. When he opens them, he sees Ky's face, showing him all of the kindness he's so fond of and the bespectacled look he just helped him out in. Potemkin raises his hand to his mouth, to subtly cover up his enjoyment. Potemkin isn't ready to be the one to deflate his own image.
